Inversion therapy is not new, it has been around for decades with good and bad broadcast about the therapy, but we are going to cover 3 things that most never knew about or was never advertised that could not only help give you a better quality of life, but could actually save your live.
I know, that was a bold opening statement for a simple contraption that has been demonized by the main stream medical society and loved by what most call the “Fringe” groups of society, but I will attempt to set the record straight.
1. They are statistically safer than most pharmaceutical drugs like Vioxx that has killed a million plus people It is an NSAID or non steroidal anti-inflammatory. It is prescribed for back pain, arthritis and other issues. After a week or so of research I have found that there are less than 100 deaths with Inversion tables and thousands of reviews on inversion tables where people swear by them, claiming instant relief of back pain.
That may sound impressive, but Vioxx was only released since 1999 and inversion tables have been around since the 60′s as we know them today, and much longer than that with earlier models in previous decades and even as far back as 3,000 B.C. Now that’s impressive, and only one pharmaceutical drug, there are hundreds for back pain that are deadly…much more deadly than inversion therapy.
2. The Medical profession hates inversion therapy Because of lost revenues.
There was a study of Inversion Therapy in Patients with Pure Single Level Discogenic Disease: a pilot randomized trial. Manjunath Prasad KS, Gregson BA, Hargreaves G, Byrnes T, Mendelow AD. Regional Neurosciences Centre, Newcastle General Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.
They took a group of people who needed sciatic surgery according to modern medicine for repair and relief of their pain. The group was split in half. One group used inversion therapy with physiotherapy and the other with just physiotherapy. The authors stated, “Inversion therapy decreased the need for an operation pertaining to sciatica due to single level disc protrusion to 23% as compared to 78% in the non-inversion group”. That’s 70.5% that that no longer needed the sciatica surgery. Pretty incredible…right? Here is another one.
Sheffield, F.: Adaptation of Tilt Table for Lumbar Traction. Arch Phys Med Rehabilitation; 45: 469-472, 1964.
175 patients who were unable to work due to back pain were treated. After eight inversion treatments, 155 patients were able to return to their jobs full time. Study concluded that the main basis for improvement was the stretching of paraspinal vertebral muscles and ligaments and possibly the widening of intravertebral discs.(Source)
That’s a lot of lost revenues for big pharma and the medical community as a whole. it is almost like they don’t want you healed so hey can maintain and increase their revenues.
3. It improves your overall health even if you don’t have back pain.
I know, sounds like snake oil…right? No so, the facts and studies on inversion made know that inversion has improved the quality of life for thousands, hundreds of thousands and many millions over the eons of humanity.
It has been show that it increases flexibility, helps you sleep better and more sound, lowers blood pressure and quicker recovery from muscle and other injuries.
There are many test, studies and trials on inversion if you take a little time and research. things are not as they seem. Do your own research and you might be shocked as to why inversion therapy has been so hated by doctors and companies within the medical community. You can learn more about Inversion therapy at Sunflower University Press and other sites like it across the web.
I would suggest that if you have back pain or just want better overall health that you should take some time and do some serious research. You will be glad you did.
